FAQs
How does the accelerated M.B.A. work?
Skipping the first-year core, students who meet the eligibility requirements for the accelerated program immediately
start taking courses required and recommended for one of the four tracks in Innovation/Entrepreneurship, Securities
Analysis (Finance/Accounting), Sports Business, and Sustainable Business Practices.
How long does the accelerated M.B.A. take? 9 months (3 academic terms), if you take 5 courses a
term, or 11 months, if you postpone 1 or 2 courses until the summer. LCB does not offer graduate business courses in
the summer, but it is possible to take summer courses in Economics and Not-for-Profit Management (PPPM).
Do I have to start the accelerated M.B.A. in the fall?
Yes.
Is the accelerated M.B.A. degree worth less?
No! You'll be receiving the same degree and your diploma will read the same as that for the two-year program.
What are the advantages of the accelerated M.B.A.?
1. It takes much less time and costs less.
2. You don't have to rehash material you studied as an undergraduate.
3. You launch right into one of our tracks.
What are the disadvantages?
1. With one extra course a term, the work load is intense. By postponing a couple of courses to the summer and taking
an extra two months, you can lessen your load.
2. You miss out on the Strategic Planning Project.
3. There's no time for an internship during your studies, but you are free to tack one on when you're done.
